History
Making inferences :
- Sources have meanings which are not immediately obvious.
- You have to make a clever conclusion based on the question
- ***INFERENCE CANNOT BE FOUND IN THE SOURCE. ONLY evidence can be found in the source.
- Support your inference with evidence quoted from the source.
Steps to do SBQ :
- Read the question
- Hightlight the requirements of the question.
- Read the source
- Underline the evidenve in the source which you can use to form your inferences
- Writing paragraph :
Eg. Source A tells me that ... (1st inference) as it says "..." (Evidence)
Eg. Source A also tells me .... (2nd inference) as it says "...." (Evidence)
SAY, SHOW, TELL
Common errors in SBQ : - No link to the question --> ATQ
Eg. What does it tells you about the Japanese
Ans : Singapore was tortured.. -.- X!!
- Missing evidence --> baseless inference
- Only 1 inference stated
- Inference is not about paragraphing the source. (It has to be concluded)
